Academic Advocacy
Support that helps your child get what they actually need, and helps you understand your rights.
We help families navigate IEP/504 plans, evaluations, and school communication so your child isn’t left behind or misunderstood.
What Is Academic Advocacy?
Academic advocacy means having someone on your side who understands both:
The school system (IEPs, 504s, services, and how decisions are made)
Your child’s needs (learning, behavior, attention, processing)
We help you understand your rights.
We support you before, during, and after school meetings.
Two Types of Advocacy We Support
Not every student needs the same kind of advocacy. We support families in two primary areas:
Behavioral Advocacy
Students With:
ADHD, Autism, medically-related diagnoses
Significant behavioral challenges
Difficulty participating in structured learning
School placement concerns
Multiple suspensions & frequent discipline notes from school
We help you:
Navigate IEPs and behavior plans (BIPs) to fit your child’s needs
Advocate for appropriate placement and related services
Communicate effectively with schools
Push for support that actually matches your child’s needs
Request Parent Training
Filing District/State complaints
Academic Advocacy
Students Who:
Are capable, but struggling in school
Have ADHD, Autism, or learning differences
You suspect may have dyslexia, dyscalculia, or other Specific Learning Disability
We strongly recommend ongoing academic support so we can:
Collect real data on how your child learns
Identify what actually works and what doesn’t
Advocate with real-time evidence
Advocacy without ongoing academic data is limited to guidance and communication support.
Combined with tutoring, we provide targeted, evidence-based recommendations that schools take seriously.
